God’s longing for us is so great that even when we cruelly and ungratefully crucified His Son, God didn’t give up on us. Christ rose and His message was “Peace” and “Do not be afraid.” The capstone of Lent and of the Paschal Mystery is God’s burning love, a love that nothing can extinguish, a love that desires mercy, not sacrifice.
